    Missing church on Sunday

This is truly one of those random thoughts posts.

    1) I didn't go to church this Sunday, but I had church. Online baby. First was a worship session on Pandora. Then there was message from Sister McPherson (founder of foursquare church herself). Bible reading from Bible Gateway complete with commentary and amplified bible version. Evening service is going to be on Zune (my worship collection) and a message by Brother Sunday Adelaja.

Yes - I didn't go to church, but by golly, I had church even my Papa will be proud of in his CAC way.

    Real Estate Valuation

In 2008, the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) will require quarterly valuation of RE investment portfolio. I wonder if the recent implosion/flight to quality is preceding this. Additionally, we can expect to see more volatility is real estate valuation globally.

    Costa Rica

I will be blogging about Costa Rica later on, but an observation I notice was that the country seems young. A fellow passenger that I commented to, thought it was because you tend to see the young up and about. I disagreed, and I was right I just confirmed my observation from the CIA world fact book. Median age in Costa Rica is 26.8 years. Compared to 36.6 years in the US and 18.7 years in Naija.

    One more thing..

Before I forget, this has just been on my mind - "Everyman for himself, God for us all" - I read somewhere that realizing the truism of these saying is becoming mature? What do y'all think?

While I can see why someone will think that way, I am not sure it is true.

There is no smoke without a fire? Really? What about smoke-like fog?

Click on this link to see a Professor from CMU give the lecture of a lifetime.

He is such a very impressive guy. Dying from pancreatic cancer at age 46, he is delivering his last lecture which was taped for his children.

We all have a lot to learn from this guy.

    God Still Speaks

In a time not too long ago, this posting - I would have called a testimony. But as in everything with God, what you call it is irrelevant, it just is.
Anyways, all I want to say is that God still speaks to us. He gives clear direct instructions. The noise of life and our own rebellion often prevents us from hearing him. Lately, I have made a feeble attempt at hearing God on one issue. Apparently he has been trying to reach out to me on another - and finally he got through. Thank God!
So why am I writing this? to broadcast what God told me? No.
The reason I am writing this is so that someone who reads this and needs to know, does God speak to us, does he give clear directions, the answer is Yes! Yes! absolutely Yes! he does.

For me it all started at the Teriyaki join and with the warrior prayer and then spontaneous desire for praise and worship and finally a long night at a bar so my body can be tired and gotten out of the way. A bar you say, yes  the Bible says He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.

    The Warriors Prayer

    Heavenly Father
    Your warrior prepares for battle
Today I claim victory over satan by putting on
    the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth!
May I stand firm in the truth of your Word
so I will not be a victim to Satan's lies

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousnes!
May it guard my heart from evil
so I will remain pure and holy
protected under the blood of Jesus Christ

I put on the shoes of Peace!
May I stand firm in the Good NEws of the Gospel
so your peace will shine through me
and be a light to all I encounter

I take the Shield of Faith!
May I be ready for Satan's fiery darts of
    doubt, denial and deceit
so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat

I put on my Helmet of Salvation!
May I keep my mind focused on You
so Satan will not have a stronghold on my
    thoughts

I take the sword of the spirit!
May the two edged sword of your Word
    be ready in my hands
so I can expose the tempting words of Satan

By faith your warrior has put on
    the whole armor of God

I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory!

    Amen
